Welcome to the first episode of Picnic In The Park! A new web series combining local parks, local food, local guests from the Greater Toronto Area, and great conversation. In this episode, we’re at Kariya Park in Mississauga, named after Mississauga’s sister city, Kariya, Japan. (Fun fact: The City of Kariya has its own Mississauga Park with a replica of Mississauga’s City Hall) Joining me for this picnic are Aaron Long (‪@aaron_long‬ ) creator of Sublo and Tangy Mustard, animator and director on BoJack Horseman, and Tuca & Bertie, and Kevin Doan, the voice of Tangy Mustard from Sublo and Tangy Mustard.

Over Tandoori Chicken Pizza from Vito’s Pizza and Fish and chips from Henry’s Fish & Chips, we talk about everything from Indie Animation, to BoJack Horseman, to how Sublo and Tangy Mustard became such a beloved cult hit, to voice acting, to Japan vacations.

We talk about staying creative while balancing personal projects with studio work, the importance of representing your hometown in art, and finding humour in everyday places, and of course, a lot of love for Kenny vs Spenny.
